Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information created while you use Orbi, and limited technical information from your device.

• Account details, such as your email address and sign-in provider information.
• Basic profile details, such as your name, optional age, and gender, when you choose to provide them.
• Onboarding answers, preferences, companion profile details, and other context you share so Orbi can shape your companion experience.
• Messages, voice notes, call transcripts, uploaded images, generated companion replies, and related conversation history.
• Technical and usage information, such as app events, device/browser details, IP-derived general location, session activity, and diagnostic information.
• Communications you send to us, including support requests, feedback, and any information included in those messages.

How We Use Information

We use information to run Orbi, personalize the companion experience, keep state consistent across sessions, and improve the product.

• Create and maintain your account and companion profile.
• Generate, transcribe, store, and display text, voice, image, and call interactions.
• Remember your preferences, prior context, chat history, and companion details.
• Provide support, respond to feedback, and send service-related messages.
• Monitor reliability, debug issues, prevent abuse, protect users, and enforce our policies.
• Understand product usage through privacy-conscious analytics and improve features over time.

AI Processing

Orbi is an AI companion app, so the information you submit may be sent to third-party AI providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and ElevenLabs, to generate replies, transcribe audio, create images, summarize call transcripts, or produce voice output.

Do not share sensitive information that you do not want processed by the app or its service providers. AI outputs may reflect information included in your prompts or prior context.

• OpenAI may process profile details, onboarding answers, text prompts, images, and audio to support onboarding, matching, transcription, image generation, and related AI features.
• Anthropic may process companion chat context, messages, and call transcript text to generate replies or memory summaries.
• ElevenLabs may process text, voice-session context, and audio input/output to support realtime voice conversations and text-to-speech audio.

Storage and Retention

Orbi stores information for as long as needed to provide the app, preserve your companion experience, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.

Some media and conversation data may also be cached locally on your device to improve performance. Clearing browser/app storage or signing out may remove local copies but may not delete server-side records.

• Account and profile data are kept while your account is active.
• Conversation history, media references, and companion context are retained so your companion can feel continuous across sessions.
• Backups, logs, and security records may remain for a limited period after deletion requests where allowed by law.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only when needed to operate Orbi, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or with your direction.

We require service providers that process personal information for Orbi to provide the same or equal protection described in this policy and required by applicable privacy laws.

• Cloud, authentication, database, and storage providers that host and secure the app.
• AI, transcription, image, and voice providers that process prompts, media, and outputs for app functionality.
• Analytics and diagnostics providers, including PostHog, that help us understand reliability and product usage.
• Professional advisors, authorities, or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect users, Orbi, or others.
• Successors or transaction partners if Orbi is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or asset transfer.

Cookies, Local Storage, and Analytics

Orbi uses browser storage, device storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember session details, cache media, and understand how the app is used.

Analytics may collect app events and technical information. Orbi configures analytics to reduce collection of message text and element details where practical.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, object to, restrict, or delete personal information. You may also be able to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To make a request, contact virok@withorbi.com from the email associated with your account when possible. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and protect your account.

• You can sign out or stop using Orbi at any time.
• You can request deletion of account, profile, and companion data.
• You can limit some local tracking by changing browser settings or clearing local storage, though some app features may stop working correctly.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information handled by Orbi. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so use care when deciding what to share.

Children

Orbi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

International Use

Orbi may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those places may differ from the laws where you live.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Orbi changes. When we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating this page or providing in-app notice.
